

Sonkwa moved to Washington, DC in 2008 and quickly earned a reputation for his inventive and engaging DJ skills and incredible dance moves. Also excelling as a Master of Ceremonies (MC), he quickly became a favorite personality within the event industry.
Sonkwa’s music knowledge is vast. In fact, his beginnings in the N.Y. jazz scene are discernable throughout his music. Thanks to his cousin, D.C. jazz legend Brian Settles, his exposure to this art form matured greatly. In 2005, he began to promote electro and house events at famed NYC venues, such as APT, Cielo, Studio B, Galapagos, and Pacha. Adding to his artistic development, residencies at Tavalon and Micheliens allowed him absolute creative freedom within the art of DJ-ing.
Joe Amato has been working with AKE in the Business Development role since July 2009. His prior decade plus of award-winning sales, business development and management experience made him the perfect fit for our team. While enhancing AKE's regional presence, with a particular focus on Baltimore, Joe has secured preferred vendor status with multiple venues and event planners, as well as successfully increased revenue by booking new gigs for all four of AKE’s signature acts and DJs. Joe is also responsible for establishing and developing a company presence with National Association of Catering Executives (NACE).
Aside from business development endeavors, Joe's other role with AKE is that of drummer for theVIPs band. He has performed as a drummer for various jazz, pop and rock bands throughout the Baltimore/Washington area for many years and has played in virtually every major venue in the region.
As founder and President of The Burbank Group, LLC, Ms. Greenwald specializes in strategic brand identity creation, brand building, and messaging. She develops marketing, advertising, and public relations infrastructures. Services include advocacy initiatives, creative project development, media and public speaking preparation, key relationship building, and strategic planning.
Ms. Greenwald has been published under her own name as a thought leader on the topics of brand building, marketing, and brand image projection. She is a public speaker, the named editor of a leadership strategy book, and winner of eight international awards for brand identity creation and distribution.
